Love from Cousins
Jack, age 6 (he'll be 7 in June, crazy!) told me "You're going to be just as good of a mom as my mom, and she's the best mom!"
Jack agrees with me when I tell him he'll be the best cousin ever.

Max, age 3, is also enjoying my pregnancy. We have a lot in common now that I'm pregnant. He also has a baby boy in his tummy, but his baby is named Baby Buzz.

Sam finally felt a kick
Lately Owen has been on a regular kicking schedule. Around 9-10 am, 12-2 pm, and 4-5 pm. I feel him again a little bit later in the evening, but those are never very strong. This schedule has been tough for Sam to feel any movement, since I am at work those times.
This morning I went to work late because I am trying to fight off a cold. I was sleeping in, and Sam came to bed (after working last night) around 9:30. Him coming to bed woke me up, so I ate a banana, and layed back down. Sam said "Hi wife" and cuddled behind me. A few minutes later I felt Owen kick! I had Sam put his hand on my stomach. Another kick, and I asked Sam if he had felt it. He said he wasn't sure. There were a few more little ones that I didn't ask him about, and then another big one. He said it felt it! Yay! He told me that was really cool, and kissed me goodnight :).

Made Me Jump
Out of no where today I felt a strong kick in my stomach. It scared me, and I jumped! My first thought/instinct was that pain was going to follow, but then I realized it was Owen making his presence known. I couldn't believe how strong it was! Definitely the strongest yet.

Movements!
I can finally (for sure) feel Owen moving!!
Thanks for the strong kicks & punches baby Owen, I LOVE THEM! Keep them coming! You can slow the movements down later though, when you get closer to my ribs :) Thanks! Mom
Music
Today Owen heard his first song. At least I hope he did :). I am 19 weeks today, and my weekly email said he can hear now. Naturally, I'm putting that information to use.
I played Sarah Mclachlan's Ordinary Miracle song for my belly. It's one of my favorites, and one that I hope Owen can hear now, so it will be a comfort to him after he is born. I plan on playing this song, and Jack Johnson's Upside Down song (my all time favorite song!!) for the next few months. It will be awesome if he is born recognizing these songs.
Also, Sam said he would read to Owen. I will tell him that he has to start now since Owen can hear. He needs to know his daddy's voice :).

It's a boy!
On February 14th, 2011 at about 10:40am we found out the little baby in my tummy is a boy! Hi Owen, we love you!!
Dr. Beck said a few times how perfect Owen's spine is. It must be great, because he gave us a picture too. It was nice to hear him say all the things that were growing just the way they should. He has a strong heartbeat, brain looks good, spine is perfect, and has all the right limbs. All wonderful things for a mother to hear :).
I turned this picture upside down because I like it better that way. Another cute little profile picture.
I can't wait until Owen is born, so I can take all the pictures I want of him. Until then, these ultrasounds will be the only thing on his blog. I'm pretty sure we'll be getting a 3D ultrasound later, so that will be cool.
See you in about 5 months baby Owen.
